Printmaking at the Shed!

We have an A3 desktop pooky press for printmaking at the shed. It is suitable for Lino printing, mono-printing and other relief printing. You can print up to size A3 or smaller on the press.

this is the first time we have offered print making courses so if there is a time/day that would work better for you or a particular skill you would like to learn that isn't listed please get in touch using the contact form and let us know.

Course 1: Botanical Print making
In this course we will explore all things botanical when it comes to printing. We will explore a variety of image making techniques during this course including printing from nature, printing from blocks, mono printing.

This will be a fun time of experimenting and learning the basics of printmaking.

Course 2: Lino printing induction
If you want to refresh your skills at cutting and printing lino prints, or a new learner who wants to experiment then this course is for you. We will practice printing blocks and also practice carving our own designs and printing on paper and fabric using the pooky desktop press.

This is a one week, one session course.

This will be a fun time of experimenting and learning the basics of printmaking. This course will be required for beginners members before they can use the press unsupervised during drop in days.

23 January 2025 (session 2)

Course 3: Lino printing drop in
If you are an experience printer or have done the induction course we will be hosting drop in print sessions where you can use the press and share your knowledge/learn from others interested in printmaking.

Check the course calendar. Drop in sessions are for shed members only. No cost except for materials used. Dates are TBC so do send us a message to check in on dates.

If you haven’t printed before then you’ll need to do the Lino induction course before doing drop in

Course 4: Print your own festive cards & wrapping paper
Join us for this fun and festive evening using lino and direct printing to create festive cards & transform and re-use plain brown shipping paper into festive wrapping paper.

Suitable for those with printing experience and beginners as well.
